After trips to Provincetown, Fort Lauderdale, and Puerto Vallarta, founder Dean Malka kept coming back to the same thought: the energy of those places deserved a better T-shirt.

In 2009, he started Swish Embassy in a Toronto spare bedroom, hand-pressing tees with a small press and a distinct point of view. The aim was something witty, wearable, and connected to the community—a shirt that could start a conversation before you said a word.

The project soon outgrew its original setup. After a pause, Swish returned in September 2015 with 25 products and a fresh start. Today, Swish Embassy is a global, LGBTQ+ owned company with roots in Toronto. We operate and ship from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and China—bringing our distinctive mix of queer culture, pop culture, and personality to customers around the world.

What began as a challenge is still driven by a simple idea: make something people love wearing, and give them a reason to connect.
